The adventure mountain Watles above Malles and Burgusio turns into a winter sports paradise during the cold months of the year. Everyone maintains the overview here: 18 km of easy and medium difficult slopes are waiting for you. The valley station is located in Prämajur near Slingia, a component locality of Malles Venosta. It is accessible by the free ski bus which circulates between the valley and the Slingia Nordic Center, the famous cross-country ski and biathlon centre.
The offer of the Watles Skiing Area includes the new ski cross slope with jumps, waves and curves and the snowpark for the boarders, as well as the Family Fun Line and the Bubo Kinderpark for the little ones. The easiest slope is called Tschunggai and is located near the mountain station, perfect for beginners - the most difficult one is the freeride run leading through a larch forest. The Watles Ski School offers, besides lessons for adults and kids, also carving and snowboard courses. The offer is completed by one of the most beautiful natural toboggan runs of South Tyrol.
The 2,500 m high Mt. Watles in the Sesvenna Alps in the border triangle Italy-Austria-Switzerland is also highly appreciated by winter hikers and snowshoe trekkers. It features its own winter pleasure trail which takes you to the cosy ski huts, such as the Höfer Hut with its sun terrace and the Plantapatsch Hut, where you can enjoy the regional delicacies. The Watles Skiing Area belongs to the Ortler Skiarena and to the Two Country Skiarena, which unites 211 km of slopes between the Austrian village of Nauders at the Resia Pass and Solda in the Italian Val Venosta valley.
