Castel Coira

An impressive castle in Val Venosta valley is Castel Coira.

This castle, the gateway of the Val Mazia valley, shows a mixture of Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance building elements (in the picture: the castle seen from Sluderno).

Not only culture lovers will be impressed by the Madonna sculptures, the “death signs” in the castle chapel and the painted arcades with the Renaissance vault, made out of the special Lasa marble.
