Along the main road in Dobbiaco village, you will find the Three Peaks Cheese Dairy, which produces delicacies such as fresh cream, ricotta and butter. Of course, the range also includes a wide selection of South Tyrolean mountain cheese delicacies such as the Original Dobbiaco, the spicy Alp Cheese and the traditional "Dolomitenkaiser". And how do the holes get into the cheese?
The Three Peaks Show Dairy - "Schaukäserei Drei Zinnen" in German, "Mondolatte Tre Cime" in Italian - in the same building provides answers to these and many other questions from young and old. The tour starts in the small museum of the Three Peaks Cheese Dairy, which shows how cheese and butter were made in the past. A film also gives an insight into the daily life of South Tyrolean dairy farmers. From the visitors' gallery, you can then watch the master cheese maker at work: He is the specialist for transforming the best fresh milk into high-quality cheese. It's all about fermentation, salting and maturing, storage and refinement.
If you want to let this experience melt in your mouth, you can taste the products afterwards and buy them in the in-house shop. And how to reach the Three Peaks Show Dairy? It is located along the main road of the Val Pusteria valley in Dobbiaco, a car park is available.
