On some summer days, the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle in Maia Alta, a district of Merano, close a little earlier in the evening to provide space for music fans: Then the coveted Garden Nights take place (Gartennächte, in German), live concerts with well-known names in a unique setting. On the water of the water lily pond below Trauttmansdorff Castle, which is a popular place for a break during the day with its bistro and deckchairs, a concert stage is then set up.

The open-air concert series has been taking place for over a decade and everyone likes to be surprised with the names for the next edition. Musicians such as Sportfreunde Stiller and John Butler, Passenger and Shaggy, as well as local stars such as the Herbert Pixner Project and the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento already performed here on balmy summer evenings. Admission is not included in the ticket for visiting the gardens, there are individual tickets.
