Near Passo Resia, where the river Adige begins, a lonely church tower rises out of the lake. When the reservoir was built, unfortunately a whole village was flooded: The inhabitants had to move and the houses were buried by the water.
The top part of the church tower is more or less visible today, depending on the water level. Many stories and legends talk about the flooding and the church tower.
In summer, the lake is a popular place to relax and regenerate and in winter many ice-gliders go there due to the favourable wind.
