Magic is the athmosphere round the ancient farmer’s village of Lauregno, the southernmost village of Alta Val di Non. From this place you enjoy a fabulous view that ranges from the Gruppo delle Maddalene and Brenta to the Presanella glacier to the world-famous Catinaccio.
Lauregno has first been mentioned in 1274 under the name “Laurus”, deriving from the Latin term for laurels. Centuries-old farmsteads surround the centre of the village that spreads round the late-Gothic parish church. Hiking, Nordic Walking, discovering nature on foot or simply enjoy the “dolce far niente” can best be enjoyed in this place.
A special viewpoint is provided by the so-called “Hea”, slightly above Lauregno. From this place the Cantinaccio shows its bright side, especially at sunset, when the so-called enrosadira, the Alpenglow, colours the mountains reddish.
