video : Schwemmalm Val d’Ultimo in winter
The more than 2,600 m high Schwemmalm in the Val d'Ultimo, offering a wonderful panorama on the Ortles Alps, is becoming more and more popular with winter sports enthusiasts. The new valley station is located in Pracupola near Lake Zoccolo, where a cross-country ski track leads past and where - on the other side of the road - the new ice skating ground can be found.
One of the cabins of the modern gondola lift is dedicated to the local ski star Dominik Paris, Super-G World Champion 2019, Italian Downhill Champion 2021, and multiple winner on the mythical Streif in Kitzbühel. The Schwemmalm is also a popular training area - ski stars such as Lindsey Vonn, Giulia Mancuso and Aksel Lund Svindal have been here for training purposes.
The Ski Area Schwemmalm Ultimo is family-friendly: The Bärenhöhle (Bear Cave) Snow Kindergarten is open daily, and next to the mountain station there's the Schwemmy Snow World with the mascot Leni, a small sheep, which accompanies the children. Next to the Pracupola valley station, however, you can find a small practice park near the Cafè Seawies.
