The skiing area on the Giovo Pass around the Kalcher Alpine Pasture is one of the most snowsure ones in South Tyrol. Eight lift facilities take you into the skiing area - among them there are the Blosegg Chairlift and the fully automic panorama gondola lift which start at the edge of Racines di Dentro. Due to the fact, that the more than 2,000 m high Giovo Pass is the passage between the Upper Valle Isarco and the Passiria Valley, and that the 28 km of slopes reach down to the Passo Giovo Hut along the pass road, it represents also the second skiing area of the Val Passiria.
In the heart of the Racines-Giovo Ski Centre there's the Racines Fun Park with its Wave Line, Kicker Line and Fun Slope. The slopes include easy family runs as well as the permanent slalom slope where you can compete, and the only black downhill run of the area, the 1 km long "Rinneralm Profi" Slope. Children, however, can look forward to the Skiland of the Racines Ski School and the ski kindergarten, where children aged 3 and more can take their first steps on skis.
Several cosy ski lodges offer local delicacies. Also a toboggan run and the Monte Piatto track, a panoramic high-altitude cross-country ski track near the mountain station, are available. The Alta Valle Isarco Ski Pass is valid here, comprising the three skiing areas Racines-Giovo, Monte Cavallo and Ladurns. A free skibus connects the surrounding localities: The Ridanna-Racines-Giovo region is a member of the "Alpine Pearls", which promote climate-friendly mobility in holiday resorts.
