The skiing area of the Reinswald lift facilities in the rear Val Sarentino valley is known above all for its wide slopes, the Snow and Sun Park on the Plankenhorn slope, and the European Cup downhill run. Between the area, where in summer the Urlesteig Trail is located, and the town of Bolzano there is the Sarentino Gorge. From Vipiteno, Reinswald is separated by the Pennes Pass.
The Reinswald skiing area has also got a wide range of offers for families with children, which includes for instance the children's specialized Val Sarentino Ski School and a winter playground at the valley station of the cable car. In South Tyrol's 1st sledding park, however, children can receive free professional tobogganing instruction for safe winter fun.
A skibus connects Bolzano and the village of Sarentino with Reinswald, for winter days without car. In the four ski huts along the slopes, located between 1,530 and 2,130 m a.s.l., you may enjoy the South Tyrolean delicacies. But in Reinswald you can do also without skis: A 4.5 km long toboggan run leads from the Pichlberg Mountain Hut to the valley station of the cable car.
