Reinswald Skiing Area

In Reinswald or San Martino in the Val Sarentino valley, a member of the Ortler Skiarena, there’s South Tyrol’s first sledding park

The modern skiing area of the Reinswalder Bergbahnen lift facilities is located on Mt. Pichlberg in the rear Sarentino Valley, about 30 km from the main town of Bolzano. Between this beautiful landscape, where in summer the Urlesteig Trail is located, and the town of Bolzano there is the Sarentino Gorge. From Vipiteno, Reinswald is separated by the Pennes Pass. The Reinswald Cable Car starts directly at the edge of San Martino. In the four cosy ski huts along the ski slopes you may enjoy the South Tyrolean delicacies and some relaxing hours on the sun terraces.

The Reinswald Skiing Area is known for its wide slopes and the European Cup downhill run with a gradient of 58 %. But there are also some easy runs and flat hills, where the Sarentino Ski School helps with the first steps on the skis. It is a children's specialised ski school, distinguished with the seal of quality in gold. A very popular place for kids is the winter playground at the valley station.

The ski bus connects Bolzano and the village of Sarentino with Reinswald, for winter days without car. But in the skiing area you can do also without skis: Two toboggan runs take you on 4.5 km from the Pichlberg Inn to the valley station and - more difficult - on 1.5 km from the Sunnolm Hut to the valley. In South Tyrol's 1st sledding park, children can receive free professional tobogganing instruction for safe winter fun. Reinswald is one of the skiing areas of the Ortler Skiarena.
