video : Sunrise on the Monte Cavallo
Not far from Vipiteno Mt. Cavallo rises, the sun terrace of the town in the Upper Valle Isarco. From the town centre, you can reach the valley station in a 5-minutes walk. There, the new 10-seater gondola lift with "Diamond EVO" premium gondolas starts, which has been newly built in 2022, together with the valley station and the mountain station. They are inaugurated right in time for the start of the winter. On the top of the mountain you can enjoy skiing on 22.5 km of slopes...
Most of the ski slopes are medium difficult. The longest downhill run is the new 5.5 km long valley run, the most difficult one is the 1 km long training slope. The area is really family-friendy: Children can take their first steps on skis guided by the Vipiteno Ski School, specialised in teaching kids and awarded the quality seal in gold. A beginners' area as well as the ski kindergarten at the new "CAMP 2" are available. Furthermore, on Mt. Cavallo you can find Italy's longest illuminated and artificial snow covered toboggan run, where the popular tobogganing evenings take place.
The cosy ski huts along the sunny slopes - including the Stern Hut and the Enzianhütte Monte Cavallo Hut - invite to a rest. Thanks to the proximity to the town, a ski day followed by a visit to the Vipiteno Christmas Market during the Advent period is an unforgettable experience. The Ortler Skiarena Pass as well as the Alta Valle Isarco Ski Pass - for three skiing areas - are valid here.
