Monte Cavallo skiing area

Mt. Cavallo, the leisure mountain of Vipiteno, is known for its sunny position, the sureness of snow, and the family friendliness.

Not far from Vipiteno the Monte Cavallo rises, the sun terrace of the town. From the town centre, you reach the valley station in just 5 minutes. Within other 12 minutes, a modern gondola lift takes you to the top of the mountain, where you can enjoy skiing on 20 km of slopes.

Some years ago, the new valley run and the modern Telemix, a panoramic cable car, have been added to the offer. The skiing area is known for its family friendliness: Children can take their first steps on skis, guided by the Vipiteno Ski School, specialised in teaching kids and awarded the quality seal in gold. For toddlers there's also a children's park, which is called Kinder Yogurt Land.

On Mt. Cavallo you can also find Italy's longest illuminated and artificial snow covered toboggan run, which has been awarded the safest run in the Alpine area by the General German Automobile Club ADAC. The ski huts along the slopes invite to a rest. The Ortler Skiarena ski pass and the Alta Valle Isarco ski pass (Racines-Giovo, Monte Cavallo and Ladurns) is valid in this skiing area.
