For more than 150 years the village of Villabassa has been a popular holiday resort. Already in the beginnings, the local hay baths as well as the Dolomiti di Sesto and Braies attracted numerous visitors. This made the village one of the pioneers of South Tyrolean tourism. A special cultural highlight are the Festival of Choirs in early summer, when choirs coming from different countries and cultures unite in Villabassa, and the so-called “Kulturzeichen”, a meeting of renowned artists in late summer!
