HERO Südtirol Dolomites

A stage of the international MTB World HERO Series takes place every year in June in Selva Gardena in the Dolomites

"The hardest and most spectacular mountain bike marathon of the world" - that's how the HERO Südtirol Dolomites presents itself every year. In June, passionate off-road bikers meet in the Val Gardena valley to crown their "Hero". The HERO Südtirol Dolomites is a stage of the MTB World HERO Series, which has also races such as the Iron Bike Race in Einsiedeln in Switzerland and the Black Forest Ultra Bike Marathon in Kirchzarten in Germany on the list. For more than a decade now, the bikers have started in Selva Gardena at 1,563 m a.s.l. There are three categories.

The Classic Distance (60 km and 3,200 m of altitude difference) leads to the Dantercepies and Pralongià high plateaus and over the Pordoi and Sella Passes in the Dolomites. The Marathon Distance (86 km and 4,500 m of altitude difference) has the Sourasass in Arabba, the Duron Pass and the Zallinger Plateau on the programme. Last but not least, there's the Intermediate Distance (71 km and 4,100 m of altitude difference) with the Pordoi Pass, the Duron Pass and the Zallinger. HERO Kids for children from 4 to 12 years, HERO Gourmet and an entertainment programme complete the event. In the HERO Village, the hottest MTB brands present their new products.
