Boys' choirs have existed for over 1,000 years. The Windsbach Boys' Choir is one of the leading ensembles of its kind today and presents a varied program in this concert with music originally composed for boys' choirs. It is a musical journey from the Renaissance to the present day. The program includes sacred works by Guillaume Dufay, Heinrich Schütz, Johann Sebastian Bach, the Thomaskantoren of later eras, and works up to the 21st century. Many of these pieces can now be found in the repertoire of a wide variety of ensembles around the world. They have their origins in the sound of the boys' choir – and with the Windsbachers, they sound particularly beautiful!
