The main place of the idyllic Valle di Casies is ideal for a walk on the panoramic trail Talblickweg.
With a number of inhabitants of about 290, the main place of the municipality is located at 1,276 m and comprises an upper and a lower part. Worth noticing is the Pater Haspinger monument, who is considered the most famous citizen of the Valle di Casies. In the legendary year 1809 he significantly contributed to the victory over the troupes of Napoleon. Also a chapel in the village is dedicated to the Tyrolean freedom fighter. What is also worth seeing is the parish church, converted to Baroque style in 1777.
However, S. Martino and the entire valley are above all a fascinating place due to nature and the mighty farmsteads spread all over the valley, which by the way can best be experienced on the panoramic Talblickweg. Also ideal for an excursion are the alpine pastures of Casies. But not only in summer, also in winter S. Martino is a fascinating place. Winter walking, snow-shoeing, there are activities for every taste.
