Oberland is the part of the municipality of Villandro located close to the Alpe di Villandro, an alpine pasture.
Oberland, this is how another village belonging to Villandro is called, located at an altitude of 1,500 m asl, above the chief village of the municipality. You can approach Oberland by driving from Villandro towards the Alpe di Villandro. What is so striking about this village is above all the panoramic view it offers: Sasso Putia, Plose, Odle mountains, Sasso Lungo and Sasso Piatto, Catinaccio and many Dolomite mountains more can be admired from this place.
In summer the nearby alpine pasture of the Alpe di Villandro provides various possibilities for hikes, some of which are also ideal for families. However, also more experienced hikers can find several hiking destinations, such as the Croce di Lazfons, the Corno del Renon or the Monte Forcella Sarntina. In winter you can best experience the snow-covered landscape on foot, or in a snow-shoe tour. You can look forward to fairytale holidays.
Our tip: a tour in the silver mine of Villandro, which is located only a stone’s throw from the village.
