The Multscher and City Museum in Vipiteno holds a fascinating collection that reflects the rich history of the city. The jewel within consists of the Vipiteno altarpiece, a work filled with meaning by Hans Multscher, dating to the 15th century. Originally created for the parish church, it was moved to the town hall and then transferred to the site of the commandery of the Teutonic Order (Deutschhaus), today the site of the museum
