This is the story of the Giantess of Tyrol, Maria Fassnauer. In her day, she was considered the tallest woman in the world. At a height of around 2.27 metres, she travelled through Austria and Germany, eventually reaching England. The exhibition of people with unusual characteristics - so-called “freak shows” - was not a rarity at the time, but was considered an attraction. For Maria, these were unforgettable times. An exhibition, as well as a life-size figure of Maria, can be seen today at the Ridanna Mining Museum
