Cabaret “Carambolage”

It was in 1996 when a vaulted cellar in the Via Argentieri alley 19, a bit hidden in the centre, became the new headquarters of the cabaret scene in Bolzano: On May 10, 1996, the "Carambolage" was founded. Even before its founding, the group had been successful with several theatre productions and also organised the Cabarena cabaret festival every summer in the courtyard of the Museum of Modern Art. Now not only a fixed location was found, but also the successes continued. Soon international artists and cabarets alternated with local productions.

The theatre, which is now widely known, consists of a team of six and offers a lot of variety to both German and Italian-speaking audiences with around 100 events per season. The concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions and readings are attended by about 8,000 theatre and cabaret lovers every year. International guests as well as local theatre-makers appear on the stage.
