Twice a year, the roads and passes round the majestic Sella Group are closed from the morning to the afternoon for motorised vehicles. That's how these impressive roads transform into a real paradise for those who love their two-wheeled vehicle! No disturbing noises, buses or motorbikes on the roads... just cyclists have the possibility to climb the passes by bike.
The cycle day for everyone has been taken place for more than 15 years now and leads to the Sella Pass (2,244 m a.s.l.), the Gardena Pass (2,121 m a.s.l.), the Pordoi Pass (2,239 m a.s.l.) and the Campolongo Pass (1,875 m a.s.l.), that's to say to four of the seven Dolomite passes of the famous Maratona dles Dolomites. The altitude difference is 1,637 metres. Everyone can participate, starting from Selva Gardena, Corvara in Badia, Arabba or Canazei. The roads are closed to motorised traffic from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm. The Highway Code must be obeyed at all times - the participants should save the environment and only use the right hand lane. Families are welcome!
