Passo del Brennero

The locality of Brennero makes part of the homonymous municipality and is a stronghold for bargain hunters.

Brennero belongs to the homonymous municipality and is directly located at the Passo del Brennero, the main border crossing between Italy and Austria. In the 13th century the village was mentioned for the first time as “Mittenwald”, since 1288 a farm of a “Prennerius” is known. The builder of this farm called himself “Chunradus Prenner de Mittewalde”, he is supposed to have conferred the name to the village.

Worth visiting is the S. Valentino church as well as the parish church Maria am Wege. However, Brennero is also a stronghold for bargain hunters. Ramble along the booths on the traditional Brennero Market or visit the “DOB - Design Outlet Brennero”, inaugurated in 2007. And when you can no longer carry your bags, have a cup of originally Italian Café Macchiato, making you get in holiday mood.
