Verdignes is one of the most panoramic villages of the low mountain range of the Valle Isarco.
Verdignes is located on an advanced rock spur between the Tinnebach river and the Isarco river and is accessible via an access road branching off between Velturno and Lazfons. Verdignes, inhabited by 350 people, is located at 960 m asl and also comprises the farmsteads of Pratello (770 m). However, it is one of the most scenic villages of the low mountain range of the Valle Isarco, providing a great view of Castel Sabiona and the Dolomites. Pratello by the way comprises several impressive vine-growing farms.
Worth seeing in Verdignes is the Romanesque church of S. Valentino of the 11th century. Vineyards and chestnut forests surround this chapel, located at the highest point of a rock spur.
Our tip: what you should not miss at all is the alpine pasture fair in July, which can be combined with a pleasant hike.
