Spelonca is a mountain village with 35 inhabitants and is located high above the main village
Via a little mountain road, taking its course from Varna and by taking the right after a few km, you reach the higher located mountain hamlet of Spelonca, situated at 1,295 m and boasting 35 inhabitants only.
This is a fabulous place for a getaway on hot summer day, as the climate is cooler in higher locations. From Spelonca you start a series of hikes such as to the Forcella di Spelonca or the Cima Quaira. Also recommendable is the circular route of the village and a walk to the Steinwiesenalm pasture.
Our tip: a refreshing jump into the pond of Varna, a charming little lake for bathing located between Varna and Bressanone. In the fishing pond nearby, you can catch your dinner.
