Description
Famiglie Arcobaleno – the Italian Association of LGBTQ+ Parents – returns to parks and squares in 12 cities across Italy for the Family Festival, as part of the International Families Equality Day. A day of celebration, play, awareness, and visibility – including in Bolzano!
"Every Heart a Revolution" – explains President Alessia Crocini – is the slogan chosen for the 2025 edition of the Family Festival, continuing the celebration of our association’s 20th anniversary, founded in March 2005. Since then, our families have become a visible and recognized part of Italy’s social fabric, thanks to our collective commitment and, most of all, to every LGBTQIA+ parent and their children who proudly and courageously affirm their existence every day.
Despite the resistance of institutions that still deny recognition to thousands of children with two mothers, two fathers, or LGBTQIA+ parents, Famiglie Arcobaleno continues to fight for equal rights and opportunities for all families. For 20 years, our revolution has been one of love and civil rights.
The Family Festival 2025 will be held across Italy in May, starting Saturday, May 10 in Pavia, Pomigliano d’Arco (NA), and Rome, and continuing on Sunday, May 11 in Bolzano, Catania, Florence, Genoa, Padua, Perugia, Reggio Emilia, and Turin. The final event will take place on Sunday, May 25 in Bari.
