One of the main topics in the Gruppo di Tessa visitor centre is water, in line with the motto of the nature park “Water and Light”.

Already in 1984 the Gruppo di Tessa visitor centre was established in the secondary school of Naturno. It assumed its current form in 1992. A recreated spring biotope, a pond biotope with tadpoles and the intriguing irrigation canals of the Val Venosta called “Waale” are shown. Under the motto “Water and Light” the diversity and variety of the habitats in the reserve are reflected. With microscopes you can lionise the microorganisms in the water. Large slide walls give an insight into flora and fauna of the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park.
In the upper floor of the centre, however, children can test their sense of smell and touch: small scented sachets and touch boxes are available here. Also birdcalls may be guessed. In the next few years, a new visitor centre is to be built on almost 600 sqm in Naturno. In addition to a media room and permanent and touring exhibitions, also a space for a kids’ workshop is planned in a cube-shaped building. Outside, small biotopes and natural spaces are to be created.
A further information point can be found in the Val Passiria valley, more precisely in the Bunker Mooseum in the village of Moso in Passiria (see pic). An old bunker houses the exhibition, part of which is dedicated to the nature park - outside there’s an enclosure for ibexes.
