The first trade fair of the year in Bolzano is an international meeting point for the sports retail trade and ski rental sector
In the first half of January, representatives of the winter sports and outdoor retail trade from the Alpine region meet at the FieraMesse in Bolzano. Innovative products and new arrivals from all over Europe are presented here, with discussions regarding quality and internationality taking place over the three days of the fair. Prowinter has grown quickly in recent years.
In 2026, an additional hall was added: The new Scandinavian Village opened in this hall, a space where international industry leaders can connect with one another. It acts as a symbol of the meeting between Northern and Southern Europe. Brands, dealers, retailers and rental companies also use Prowinter, the three-day innovation showcase, to present the Prowinter Awards.
In 2026, an assessment criterion for environmental responsibility was integrated into the award process for the first time. The trade fair partners include Pool Sci Italia, which also outfits the Italian national ski team, the Italian Outdoor Group, which brings together the key Italian companies in the outdoor equipment sector, the Val d'Ega with the Carezza Dolomites skiing and hiking area, ItaSnow for the now mandatory skier liability insurance, and Huginbiz.
