WaltherPark Bolzano

Bolzano and its Arcades, with its mix of long-established businesses, small shops and major chains, has always been a popular shopping destination, associated with the "dolce vita" on the central Piazza Walther square. Now, there is a new attraction: The opening of WaltherPark in autumn 2025 has completed the redevelopment of the area around the train station.

The shopping centre houses around 80 shops, including several one-brand stores, as well as a gym and the climbing hall on the top floor. On the same floor, there's also the "Mercato centrale", designed in the style of those in other Italian cities. 23 food stalls provide a wide range of culinary options, from sweet cornetti and savoury steaks to pasta with truffles and creative aperitifs.

The outdoor area has also been redesigned. The avenue leading to the station has been rebuilt, closed to traffic and transformed into a pedestrian zone connecting Piazza Walther with the WaltherPark and the train station. The adjacent station park has also been renovated and, now named Berloffa Park, features climbing facilities for children and, as a special highlight, illuminated water fountains. The bus stop is now located directly in front of the WaltherPark entrance.

These improvements enhance the entire area, making it ideal to combine a shopping trip with an arrival by public transport. Alternatively, you will find two car parks nearby: the new WaltherPark garage and the one beneath Piazza Walther. Whether you are looking for gifts for Christmas or birthdays, or want to treat yourself or enjoy a coffee, there are plenty of reasons to visit.
