Sellaronda Bike Day

Every year, on two days, the roads and passes around the Sella Group are closed to motorised traffic

Twice a year - once at the beginning of the summer season in the first half of June and once at the start of autumn in mid-September - the cycling day for everyone around the Sella Group takes place. It is called Sellaronda Bike Day and has been organised for around two decades.

Here you have the unique opportunity to get to know and conquer the four Dolomite passes Passo Sella, Passo Gardena, Passo Pordoi and Passo Campolongo without engine noise. These passes are also the destination of the Maratona dles Dolomites, a cycling race in July, and part of the legendary Sellaronda on skis in winter. Regardless of the two-wheeler used - racing bike, mountain bike, tandem or unicycle - the focus is not on time, but on the experience.

You can start in four villages: Selva Gardena, Corvara in the heart of Alta Badia, Arabba in the Val di Fiemme or Canazei in the Val di Fassa. The 53-kilometre tour covers a total altitude difference of 1,650 metres and the four passes mentioned above.

There are various service points along the route. The entire event takes place according to the rules of the highway code. Every participant must look after the environment and ride on the right-hand side of the road. As families with children also participate, you must also pay attention to maintaining an appropriate speed during the descents. Have fun cycling!
