Hike to the Laghetto di San Costantino pond

Autumnal excursion in the Valle Isarco valley up to Fiè allo Sciliar, far away from popular hiking paths

The early October, when the summer heat has already passed, is the right time for a walking tour at the hills of the Valle dell'Adige. A nice possibility to get to know a lesser-known region of South Tyrol. We start at Campodazzo, cross the bridge immediately behind the cycle path and underpass the Brennero Motorway. Following the marker no. 2 we walk up to the farmyards of Novale di Fiè.

Soon we reach a terraced landscape characterized by viticulture. Short cuts via forest paths lead us more and more up, on the other side of the valley we see the meadows and woods of the Renon. From Novale di Fiè (Völser Ried) we follow the path to San Constantino and the San Constantino Pond (Konstantiner Weiher, no. 12). The road surface changes permanently - first on asphalt, then along an ancient overgrown cobbled street and finally along a forest path.

Like this we reach the pond. Different from the very popular Fiè Pond it is a quiet place and this is what makes it so beautiful. Finally we visit the Church of San Constantino (St. Constantine) and come back to Fiè (Völs am Schlern) along the footpath. To come back to Campodazzo there are two possibilities: either along the Novale di Fiè road or by bus (with change in Prato all'Isarco).
