Visit the Fiè Pond and the smaller, quieter San Costantino Pond from Sant’Antonio di Fiè

On the way from Fié allo Sciliar to Siusi allo Sciliar lies the settlement of Sant'Antonio (St. Anton), one of the larger hamlets in the municipality of Fié allo Sciliar. In recent years, the small village has grown considerably and is now a quiet holiday destination near the Fiè Pond.
From here, you can also hike to a second lake, the San Costantino Pond. Unlike the much-visited Fiè Pond, this is a tranquil place that has its own special charm. Near Sant'Antonio stands the small Chapel of Saint Anthony, which you can visit during a walk through the village. The villages in the Sciliar area are often named after their patron saint, as are many others in South Tyrol.
Although this St. Anthony's Chapel is right on the road, it is so well hidden by trees that it is not immediately noticeable. The building is simple both inside and out: On the outside, a fresco of Saint Anthony with the Christ child adorns the facade. The village is well connected by public transport: A local bus takes you from here to the surrounding villages, to Fié allo Sciliar, to the provincial capital of Bolzano, or to the Alpe di Siusi Cable Car, which departs from Siusi allo Sciliar.
This provides a direct link to Europe's largest high-altitude pasture, a huge outdoor activity park with many hiking trails, mountain bike routes, cross-country skiing trails and the Alpe di Siusi Skiing Area. There, numerous mountain inns invite you to stop for South Tyrolean specialities.
