La Villa

The village of La Villa, also known as Stern or La Ila, is beautifully situated at the foot of the Gardenaccia high plateau and the Piz La Ila

Venerable buildings such as Colz Castle, dating from the 16th century, and the Parish Church of Our Lady Maria ad Stellam welcome you to La Villa (Stern), another hamlet of Badia. On the edge of the village, the Piz La Ila Cable Car departs for the Piz La Ila high plateau above La Villa.

In summer, this cable car takes you to the Movimënt Piz La Ila Active Park: Alta Badia Movimënt is the name of the project that promotes physical activity and mental balance in two recreational parks on the high plateaus in the Alta Badia. This makes the Active Park above La Villa an appealing destination for groups and families, with various leisure areas and quiet zones.

There is something to suit all preferences, and younger guests can look forward to climbing walls, water games, and slacklines. You can also experience the area from a bird's-eye view with a tandem paragliding flight. Several international events take place here throughout the year.

In December, shortly after the opening of the Alta Badia Skiing Area, ski stars gather on the legendary Gran Risa slope for the giant slalom at the Men's Alpine Ski World Cup. The end of the ski season is fittingly celebrated with the Ski Carousel Vintage Party. Then, in high summer, La Villa hosts the start of the Maratona dles Dolomites, the Dolomites road cycling marathon.
