Active holidays in Riscone: The village on the Plan de Corones attracts visitors with a golf course, ski area and adventure pool
The village of Riscone (Reischach) lies at an altitude of almost 1,000 metres and is known for its wide range of options for an active holiday. You can reach it by taking the road that leads uphill from the town of Brunico past Brunico Castle. The village owes its name to the nobles of Rischon. In summer, Riscone is surrounded by green meadows and cultivated fields.
In winter, the area transforms into a white, snowy landscape. This is when the ski season begins on the legendary Plan de Corones. The lifts up the local mountain start right at the edge of the village. The Plan de Corones is accessible from four sides: Riscone, Perca, Valdaora, and San Vigilio di Marebbe. In winter, the ski resort is part of the Dolomiti Superski network and provides a connection to the famous Sellaronda - in summer, the mountain attracts mountain bikers with challenging downhill trails, including the famous "queen stage" from the Giro d'Italia.
You can combine your hikes with a visit to the two museums on the summit: the LUMEN and the MMM Corones. The sporting activities continue down in the valley. In the Reiperting sports park on the outskirts of Riscone, you will find the extensive course of the Val Pusteria Golf Club.
An animal enclosure in the Reiperting sports park is a particular delight for younger guests, and after a day in the mountains, the Cron4, an indoor swimming pool with a large sauna area, invites you to relax. The village centre of Riscone welcomes you with its cafés, shops and the Parish Church of Saint Martin. In winter, the local ball court is transformed into an ice-skating rink.
