Selva di Fuori is one of the three hamlets of the municipality of Selva dei Molini, a side valley in the Tures and Aurina Valleys. The farms are situated, like almost all buildings and villages in the Valle di Selva dei Molini, on the sun-facing, orographically left side. Between the old farms stands the Mary Help of Christians Chapel with its frescoes, which is known locally simply as the "Moarkirchl".
The Moar farms in Selva di Fuori are a group of farmsteads that belong to the mountain village. At the highest point of the hill stands the charming little church. One of the farm owners had it built around 400 years ago, presumably as a token of gratitude or to fulfil a vow. At that very time, the plague was devastating the Valli di Tures and Aurina and stopped short at the village boundary of Selva di Fuori (Aussermühlwald), so that the Valle di Selva dei Molini was miraculously spared.
Above the village rise the impressive peaks of the Valle Aurina mountain giants, where the Vedrette di Ries-Aurina Nature Park is also located. In this special natural landscape, on the slope below the Speikboden, lies the Weizgruber Hut, a hiking destination for any season.
The rustic wooden hut, at over 2,000 metres above sea level, treats you until well into autumn with South Tyrolean dishes, prepared with fresh eggs and herbs. In the cold season, you can combine the winter hike to the Weizgruber Mountain Hut with a kilometre-long toboggan run.
