From Weißenbach in the Sarntal valley, we hike northwards following the 9/27 marking, on a narrow asphalt road in about 20 minutes to the Winkhöfen and on the flat gravel path to the first fork in the trail. Turn left onto a wide forest road and continue into the valley until you reach the next fork. Turn left again and continue through Unterbergtal, partly flat, partly moderately ascending up to the Ebenbergalm. The descent is via the ascent path.
