Traditional Costumes in South Tyrol Castelrotto village Hotels Castelrotto villageDescription
The Castelrotto Farmers' Wedding has become a cherished tradition. It's an authentic re-enactment of a historical peasant wedding, as it was customarily celebrated at the foot of the Alpe di Siusi. Thanks to the participation of many locals, proudly wearing and presenting traditional costumes, the event has evolved into one of South Tyrol's most magnificent costume displays.
The highlight of the spectacle is the wedding procession from the Wegmacherhof farm near St. Anna to the centre of Castelrotto. Dressed in traditional costumes, the wedding party travels on splendidly decorated horse-drawn sleighs to the centre of Castelrotto, taking visitors on a journey back to the 19th century.
