Fanes-Senes-Braies visitor centre

At the entrance of the Val di Rudo valley in San Vigilio di Marebbe, the visitor centre of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park is located.

The exhibition of the Fanes-Senes-Braies visitor centre comprises the following topics: the origin of the Dolomites, the in 1987 discovered cave bear of the Conturines, also known as Ursus ladinicus, the most important habitats of the nature park and an interesting three-dimensional relief which shows the morphology of the area.

Along helical ramps the different floors of the Fanes-Senes-Braies visitor centre can be reached. Also information about the speciose Meadows of Armentara and the beautiful highland of Prato Piazza as well as the Ladin mythology are presented.

And for the little ones there are terrariums and a kids’ corner with different plays. Furthermore, in Daksy’s Kids’ Workshop children between 6 and 12 years can do handicrafts with natural materials and find out more about nature playfully. Daksy, the cute badger and mascot of South Tyrol’s nature parks, accompanies children on their journey.
