During Advent, Castelrotto enchants visitors with its peaceful atmosphere. The small but charming Christmas Market in the historic village square attracts with local products: Hand-knitted "Sarner" - traditional wool jackets -, cosy socks, artistic nativity figurines, and unique gift ideas invite you to browse and explore. And, of course, St. Nicholas and Krampus make their traditional appearance. Brass bands, choirs, and Christmas carol singers provide festive musical accompaniment. In 2024, the Christmas exhibition "Art under the Sciliar" will complement the programme.
Your physical well-being is also catered for: Warming drinks such as mulled wine and mulled apple cider, as well as sweet treats like Christmas Stollen and South Tyrolean Zelten await. Or how about some homemade Castelrotto Krapfen? The delicious filling usually consists of dried pears, plum jam, and cinnamon, while the airy dough is made with cream, milk, butter, eggs, and flour.
The Castelrotto Christmas Market takes place on the Advent weekends. A special highlight awaits you in mid-December: two Christmas concerts by the Kastelruther Spatzen at the Telfen Sports Centre, including an autograph session. At the end of December, the "Castelrotto Mountain Christmas" closes its doors, wishing everyone a pleasant end to the year.
