Südtirol Dolomiti Superbike

The most legendary mountain bike race of the Dolomites has led the athletes for almost three decades through the Upper Val Pusteria

It is high summer, when in the Upper Val Pusteria - the area of the Three Peaks of Lavaredo and of alpine lakes - the air is clear and the temperatures are pleasant also in higher altitudes. Then it's time for the Dolomiti Superbike, one of the oldest and best-attended MTB races in Europe. It leads from the historical centre of Villabassa to the most beautiful places of the Dolomites: Prato Piazza, Lake Dobbiaco, Mt. Elmo, Gigante Baranci Mountain Hut, Three Peaks View and Lake Landro.

A few days before the event, the Expo Area is set up in the village centre. The main race includes four different routes to choose from on this Saturday in July: the Long Distance (123 km and 3,400 m of altitude difference) as the supreme distance, the Middle Distance (85 km and 2,360 m of altitude difference) includes three ascents for advanced bikers, the Short Distance (60 km and 1,570 m of altitude difference) or Classical Distance, and the E-Bike Route. Furthermore there's a Junior Trophy. The Dolomiti Superbike is organised by the OK-Team with about 1,000 volunteers.
