Mountain bikers will find a special challenge in the hamlet of Solda di Fuori with the bike tour to the Passo del Madriccio

Solda di Fuori (Aussersulden, literally: Outer Solda) is a separate district of the municipality of Stelvio: It comes into view shortly before you reach the village of Solda. The Rio Solda stream flows through the Solda Valley, which is entirely protected in the Stelvio National Park and winds further and further upwards, surrounded by the Lasa Mountains and the Monte Cavallaccio Ridge. Further into the valley, the glaciated giants of the Ortles Alps are enthroned.

With Unterthurn, Solda di Fuori has its own bus stop and a few farms and houses in the meadows. Mountain bikers will find a great challenge here: the tour to the Passo del Madriccio, one of the most impressive in the entire region. Further into the valley, the cable car offers the possibility to save numerous metres in altitude and take your bike with you as far as the Città di Milano Hut. The route then leads through high alpine terrain to the 3,125 m high Passo del Madriccio, the transition from the Val di Solda valley to the Val Martello. In winter, the ski slopes start at the pass.

An eight-minute bus ride separates Solda di Fuori from Solda with its family destinations. These include two beautiful spots at the end of the valley: the Bear Bath, a water and nature facility, and the NATURAronda, an adventure trail with a suspension bridge. In winter, the Solda Valley lies under a blanket of snow and time takes on a different significance: Then the high-altitude cross-country ski track takes winter sport athletes through the valley floor, ice climbers can be seen at the waterfalls and the ski slope at the Kanzel Cable Car regularly becomes a night toboggan run.
