San Cassiano

San Cassiano, under the peaks of Lavarella and Conturines at 1,537 m above sea level, is a great place for hiking and mountaineering.

San Cassiano belongs to the municipality of Badia and as for tourism boasts a rich and glorious past. The place serves as a beloved destination for hikers and mountaineers alike as the rock faces of the Conturines, La Varella, Settsass and Lagazuoi mountains are really worth a visit.

In winter, the enchanting landscape is the ideal place for skiing and lots of other winter sports activities. Moreover, here you will find numerous four stars hotels and accommodations and the only two restaurants of Alta Badia, awarded a Michelin star.

We suggest: Try out a so-called “Kaiserschmarrn”, a tasty sugared pancake with raisins, and hike to the Russian chapel near to Passo Valparola!
