Excellent quality dishes are going to spoil your palate in the Michelin-starred restaurants of South Tyrol.
Since 1926 the Michelin stars are awarded to a small number of restaurants of outstanding quality. The list of the starred restaurants is published in the so-called "Michelin Guide", the oldest and best-known European hotel and restaurant guide which every year is published in different editions. The maximum number of stars that could be awarded is three. 1 star stands for "a very good restaurant in its category, worth a stop", 2 stars represent "excellent cooking, worth a detour" and last but not least 3 stars that are by the way exceedingly rare stand for "exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey".
Also South Tyrol boasts 20 Michelin-starred restaurants - that's to say one more than last year - listed in the current Italian guide "Guida Michelin Italia 2021". Here you can find the starred restaurants with a total of 25 Michelin stars:
