The popular South Tyrolean street kitchens characterise the mild summer evenings in the country.
In summer, mostly in July and August, many street kitchens can be found in the valleys of South Tyrol. Local innkeepers then offer their delicacies framed by music. Some cooks also prepare typical South Tyrolean specialities from the old days, like grandma’s “Kirchtagskrapfen”, filled with poppyseed or jam.
The street kitchen in Campo Tures in the Val di Tures is called “Tauferer Straßenküche” and is one of the oldest and most famous street kitchens in the whole country. But also the “Mühlbocha Gossnkuchl” in Rio Pusteria and the “Sunnseitn Festl” on the Naz-Sciaves High Plateau annually invite to enjoy culinary delights under the open sky.
