The Issengo Pond and the Kronaction Outdoor and Fun Park are the main attractions of Falzes on the Val Pusteria Sun Road
Falzes is known for its sunny panoramic location on the south side of the Alps: You can reach the municipality from Chienes or Stegona and will immediately find yourself on a high plateau above the valley basin. Here, summer holidays and winter walks can be perfectly combined with culinary experiences, fun swimming in the lake, and adventures in the forest.
Furthermore, Falzes is close to the Plan de Corones, the ski mountain that defines the winter season in this part of the Val Pusteria. The municipal area extends from Grimaldo in the forests above San Giorgio to the main village of Falzes, which enjoys a sunny location sheltered from northerly winds.
The hamlet of Issengo with its destinations for families, as well as the ones of Molini and Plata on the slopes above Falzes, are also part of the municipality. The low mountain range of the Val Pusteria, with the Monte Sommo, the Cima Plata, and the Cima di Pozzo peaks, is ideal for hiking.
The "Stones Tell Their Stories" theme trail and the LandArt Trail near the main village also lead through the natural and cultural landscape of Falzes. One of the most famous destinations in Falzes is the Issengo Pond. It is a natural bathing pond that provides a refreshing cool-down during the summer months. Right next to it, the courses of the Kronaction Outdoor and Fun Park run through the treetops - an experience for the whole family.
For those interested in culture and fine food, there is also plenty to discover in Falzes, such as the herb garden of the Bergila mountain pine oil distillery or Schöneck Castle, which is considered the presumed birthplace of Oswald von Wolkenstein. Right next to the castle, Restaurant Schöneck is also a renowned destination for gourmets, awarded four Gault&Millau toques and a Michelin star.
