In great panoramic position at 435 m asl, there is the village of Cornaiano, which belongs to the municipality of Appiano. Nestling between vineyards and wine cellars, it is not difficult to guess the central theme in the village. As far as the wine is concerned, there is also a wine nature trail, the wine cellar festival “Girlaner Kellerfest” and also an event called “die letzte Traubenfuhre”, which literally translated means “the last grape load”, taking place in autumn.
However, there is one event that stands out on the calendar of events, which is the Martini Market taking place every year on November 11, so to speak on Martinmas, as he is the patron saint of the village. This market offers autumn delicacies, there is a procession with lanterns for kids, games and of course music and entertainment. On this occasion, many farmers also celebrate the end of harvest time and you can properly feel the farmers’ relief on this day.
Our tip: enjoy and experience the natural landscape in an extended hike or bike tour.
