Elle stretches on a mountain slope at 1,360 m asl and provides a great view on the Val Pusteria.

Until 1928 Elle used to be an independent municipality, only after it was affiliated to the market town of San Lorenzo. Elle is located at the homonymous mountain slope, delimiting the valley basin of Brunico in the west and providing a great view on the Val Pusteria. The church of Elle was consecrated in 1483 to the S. John and Paul, round the church there is a little centre, while the other farms are spread on the slope. Also worth noticing is the sundial at the façade of the church.

If you would like to make a pleasant walk, we recommend you to scale the Cima Lasta or the Croce di Elle, providing a fantastic view, also to the Dolomites. These mountains can by the way be scaled all the year round, by mountain bike, snow shoes and asl touring skis. Elle also offers a toboggan run, which is an alternative for all the family to the above mentioned activities.
