Clusio

Clusio is located in the place where the Arundatal valley branches off the Val Venosta.

Inhabited by some 360 people, Clusio is a rather rural village. The village is located at the western side of the Piani di Males, about 1 km from the main place of the municipality, at the entrance of the Val di Clusio and Arundatal valley. Worth seeing is above all the S. Laurenzio church. On the way to Malles you also pass the little S. Antonio church. Also an abandoned bunker of the Vallo Alpino, constructed after WWI, is situated right here.

From Clusio you can also access the Sentiero delle Ore, connecting the convent of Monte Maria at Burgusio to Son Jon at Münstair in Switzerland. Coming from Burgusio, the cycle route Via Claudia Augusta stretches across the village centre of Clusio and proceeds to Laudes.
