Ladurns mountain carts

One of the hire stations for the popular mountain carts in South Tyrol is in the Ladurns hiking and skiing area in the Val di Fleres, a valley which is called Pflerschtal in German. Here, in the northernmost part of South Tyrol, before the Upper Valle Isarco crosses the Brennero Pass into Austria towards Innsbruck, you can hire an agile mountain go-kart for your descent in summer. This turns the ride down into a small adventure that is much more fun than taking the gondola.

You will find the hire station right at the mountain station of the Ladurns Cable Car. The 6.5-kilometre route leads from the Ladurns Mountain Hut to the car park at the valley station. The gravel track descends through meadows and sections of woodland, promising plenty of fun. You control the speed and how bumpy the ride gets over stones and uneven ground.

The mountain hut at the starting point is a family-run business at an altitude of about 1,700 metres, serving traditional, homemade dishes. Children aged 10 and above and/or taller than 150 cm may ride alone. The route features 12 bends, one underpass and two tunnels. Depending on your speed, the descent on the track, with a gradient of 3% to 10%, can take up to half an hour.
