Fixed rope routes

Fixed rope routes are fascinating. South Tyrol offers many different “Vie Ferrate“ of all difficulties.

Following the fixed cables, in a fixed rope route you are alwas fully protected while climbing towards heaven. Get yourself a fixed rope route equipment, a helmet and a pair of climbing boots and you are ready to start, but only if you are free from giddiness because on many fixed rope routes in the Dolomites in some parts you are exposed to heights of up to 100 metres.

However, you don’t have to be afraid because all routes provide full protection. The range of South Tyroleans “Vie Ferrate“ is very wide: some routes are ideal for beginners and children while other routes, like the “Via Ferrata Tomaselli“, are challenging even for experts.
