Dog Sledding

A winter wonderland, a sledge and the panting of Siberian Huskies - South Tyrol also offers dog sledding

The adventure with sledge dogs has also reached South Tyrol: At the Passo delle Erbe, between the Val Gardena and the Valle Isarco, everyone can experience his own dog sledge ride. Balto, Lucy and Giorgia, Fox, Greta and Nika are the names of some of the huskies pulling the sledges.

The ancestors of the Siberian Husky come from northern Siberia, where they were companions of nomadic peoples before they pulled a sledge for the first time in the famous All-Alaska Sweepstakes Sled Dog Race. At the start, the team with the rather small dogs was still mocked, but in the end they got 2nd and 4th place.

In the Val Gardena valley, anyone from the age of 3 can take a ride on a dog sledge. Professional guides, called mushers, stand on the sled and drive the team alone by shouted commands. From a height of 130 cm, you can also steer the dog team on your own and experience an unforgettable adventure in a dreamlike mountain world. This special winter sport is also recommended as a gift or an excursion with the family...
