Falzeben Merano 2000

Both summer and winter, the hiking and skiing area Merano 2000 is a popular destination for inhabitants and guests.

The village of Falzeben, part of the municipality of Avelengo, is located at 1,600 m asl and is particularly popular with those who love hiking and skiing. This is also the place where the valley station of the cable-way Falzeben-Merano 2000 is located. While in summer hikers head for higher realms for hiking, in winter the hiking area transforms into a popular skiing area, ideals both for skiers and snowboarders.

Those who do not want to use to cable-way can choose from a variety of hiking trails starting at the valley station, leading the way to the Moschwald alpine pasture or the Waidmann Alm. Moreover a passage of the European long distance hiking trail E5 snakes its way in this area. To those who aim even higher, we recommend to scale the Monte Ivigna.

A particular attraction both for kids and adults is also the so-called “Alpin Bob Merano 2000“, located near the valley station. This Alpine Bob is the longest summer toboggan run of Italy (1.1 km), making you rush towards the valley about 12 metres above the floor.
