Falzeben - Merano 2000

Both in summer and winter, the hiking and skiing area Merano 2000 is a popular destination for inhabitants and guests.

The village of Falzeben, part of the municipality of Avelengo, is located at 1,600 m a.s.l. and is particularly popular with those who love hiking and skiing. This is also the place where the valley station of the Falzeben-Merano 2000 Cable Car is located. While in summer it takes hikers to the mountains, in winter the area transforms into a popular skiing area, ideal both for skiers and snowboarders.

Those who do not want to use to cable car can choose from a variety of hiking trails starting at the valley station, leading to the Moschwald or the Waidmann Alm mountain huts. Moreover a passage of the European long distance hiking trail E5 snakes its way in this area. For those who want to go high up, a summit tour on the Monte Ivigna is recommended!

A particular attraction both for kids and adults is also the so-called “Alpin Bob Merano 2000“, located near the valley station. This Alpine Bob is the longest summer toboggan run of Italy (1.1 km), making you rush towards the valley about 12 metres above the ground.
