The mountain village of Stulles, the sunniest place in the Val Passiria, extends along the slopes of the Cresta del Giovo ridge
On the slope opposite Plata lies another part of Moso: Stulles (Stuls). The houses, along with the volunteer fire brigade and mountain rescue, the primary school and the "Stuller Lodn" shop, sit on the sunny side of the valley. The slope then rises towards the Giovo Ridge between the Val Passiria and Racines. The Passo di Monte Giovo located there takes you to Vipiteno and into the Upper Valle Isarco: The Passo di Monte Giovo is a popular day trip for motorcyclists and cyclists.
Stulles is a hiking holiday destination and starting point for the tour to the Egger Grub Mountain Hut, which offers South Tyrolean dishes, home-made products and game specialities, and in winter becomes the destination for a quiet snowshoe hike. The hike from Stulles to the Hochalm Hut at 2,174 metres above sea level takes a little longer, around two hours: It lies between jagged rocks and sun-drenched alpine meadows and can also be combined with an overnight stay.
One of South Tyrol's most beautiful panoramic hikes also leads to these two huts: the Val Passiria High Route. It starts at the highest bend of the Passo di Monte Giovo road and reaches Lake Malo (Übelsee), with whose water the sorcerer Pfeifer Huisele is said to have tried to swamp Stulles with mud. After the lake, the high route takes you to the two pastures and then into the village.
To the east lies the Silberhütthöhe, the most significant prehistoric settlement site in the Val Passiria. Here, archaeologists have made discoveries dating back to the late Iron Age. There is also something to explore below Stulles: Europe's third-highest waterfalls plunge from a terrace into the depths in two cascades of 112 metres and 230 metres. The Stulles Waterfalls (Stuller Wasserfälle) are even visible from the Passo del Rombo road and the Passirio Gorge Trail.
